A cleaner technology catalog
We now detect 20 more technologies, among them Zendesk Widget, CookieYes SDK and SmartFrame. Duplicates are merged under their current name, such as All in One SEO, Sanity, MUI and Allyant, and their old pages redirect to the new ones. Spelling variants of a name, such as Websocket or Litespeed Cache, now count for the right technology, and a technology no longer detected on any site leaves the lists. Deep scans also retry over http when https fails, and keep what a page has loaded when it never finishes loading.

Richer lead lists
Lead lists now say more about each site: the version of the technology you chose, when we first and last saw it there, the site's whole tech stack, its description, the country of its domain extension and the date of our last successful scan. Parked domains, redirects and default server pages are left out, the CSV opens in Excel with its accents intact, and large lists are built with far less memory on our database.

A clearer account area
Signing in now opens an Overview: first steps checked off as you go, a domain scan, your watchlist and your latest lead lists, how many free samples and how much of your API and MCP tokens you have used this month, and how many sites you watch. Your account pages share one menu and one set of tabs. Lead lists show a free sample as their main action. The watchlist groups technologies by category, shows the date of the next check and asks before you stop watching a site. The API & MCP page starts with the MCP address and a first API call.

Compare any two technologies by name
The compare tool now finds technologies by name as you type, suggests the alternatives of the same category, and lists the most used head-to-heads of each category. Comparison pages now only pair real alternatives, such as Shopify vs WooCommerce or React vs Vue.js, instead of pairing libraries, plugins and widgets.

Market share by category
A new Market share page shows which technologies lead 16 categories, from CMS and ecommerce to analytics, JavaScript frameworks, CDN and payments, among the top 10k, 100k and 1M sites by rank. Each technology shows its share of sites and its share of the category, recomputed daily from the sites we crawl. It replaces the Trending link, which comes back once enough comparable scans exist.

A clearer homepage
The homepage now shows real figures, including the sites scanned in the last 7 days, the four ways to use the registry (lead lists, watchlist, comparisons, API and MCP) and the leaders of six key categories. The FAQ explains how fresh the data is and how to get alerted when a competitor changes its stack.

Report previews resume on their own
When the report builder hits its rate limit, the preview now shows a countdown and resumes on its own once the pause is over, instead of failing.

Detections from DNS records
Scans now also read a site's DNS records, which reveals services its pages don't show: email providers such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, DNS hosts such as Cloudflare or Amazon Route 53, and services declared in SPF records.

Easier domain search
Paste a full URL or a www. address in the search box and it finds the site. When a site blocks scanners, for example with an anti-bot challenge, the result now says so instead of showing no technologies.

Watch your competitors' stacks
Add domains to your watchlist from the homepage result or from the new Watchlist page. Each watched site is rescanned in a browser every week, and a change only counts once two consecutive scans agree, so a flaky scan never looks like a swap. You get a weekly email listing the technologies a site added or removed, sent only when something changed, with a one-click unsubscribe.

Faster API and MCP lookups, usage in tokens
Domain lookups through the REST API and the MCP server now run a quick HTTP scan by default; ask for mode=full to also render the page in a browser. Usage is counted in tokens and shown on your dashboard: browsing categories, search and trending is free; a technology's details page or a cached lookup costs 1, a quick lookup 5, a full one 100, at most one a minute per account across the REST API and MCP. Lookup results now include mode, technology versions, scanned_at and cached, and e-mails come as {email, type}. The MCP server now requires a verified e-mail address, like the REST API.

Safer, politer crawling
Headless Chrome now runs in its own sandboxed container with restricted network access. The crawler backs off per host when a site answers 429 and retries rate-limited domains later instead of hammering them. Open PageRank scores are back in exports.

Technologies a scan no longer finds are now deactivated, over-broad fingerprint rules were corrected, non-site pages (parked, error, asset hosts) are classified, and technology shares are measured against crawled sites only.

Exports only contain fresh, valid, non-shared e-mail addresses (at most 20 per domain). A new filter excludes gambling sites.

The top 100k domains are rescanned weekly and the top 1M every two weeks, unlisted domains every 120 days, and the crawler falls back to www. when the bare domain does not answer.
