Who runs the web's top sites

For 16 categories, the technologies found on the most sites, measured on the sites we crawl among the web's top 10k, 100k and 1M by rank. Pick a tier to compare the most popular sites with the top million.

How we measure

1,332,760 crawled sites ranked in the Top 1M by at least one list

How we measure

Every percentage divides one count of crawled sites by another. The figures are recomputed daily.

Last computed on .

Usage share
The Usage column and the bar: the share of a tier's crawled sites on which the technology is detected.
Share of category
The Share column: among the tier's sites running at least one technology of the category, the share running this one. A site can run several, so shares can add up to more than 100%.
Detected on
Under each category: the share of a tier's crawled sites running at least one of its technologies.
Rank tiers
A site's tier comes from its best rank across the Tranco, Majestic and Open PageRank lists. A site counts in a tier when at least one of the three lists ranks it there, so a tier holds more sites than its name suggests. The tiers nest: the top 10k is part of the top 100k, itself part of the top 1M. This update counts 12,003 crawled sites in the Top 10k, 124,741 in the Top 100k and 1,332,760 in the Top 1M.
Crawled sites
Live sites whose last scan answered with a 2xx or 3xx status. Parked domains, aliases, default server pages, suspended sites, asset hosts and satellite domains are left out.
Detection
Technologies are read from each site's HTML, response headers and scripts and, for part of the top sites, from a render in a real browser.
